Chenille Scarves
Chenille is the French word for caterpillar and refers to the round shape of chenille yarn. Chenille is a variety of cored yarn, which is created by wrapping piles - short lengths of fibre - around a central core of long twisted fibres, producing a round cored yarn. Chenille is commonly made from cotton but can include rayon, acrylic and olefin fibres and specialised blends. Chenille has an easily recognisable sheen and iridescence. This is produced by the cored texture and makes a wonderfully springy fabric. Chenille is most commonly used for knitwear, scarves, gloves and hats because it retains warmth and keeps you cosy, whilst displaying its lovely soft sheen. We use high quality chenille for a great range of scarves and shawls. The natural iridescence of chenille makes for rich, shimmering colours that brighten up a simple scarf into the crowning glory of any outfit. We selected chenille based on its flawless structure, texture, warmth and beautiful finish. Chenille can also be used to create patterns on lighter fabrics such as chiffon. This creates striking textured patterns that show off the both the richness of chenille and the airy feel of chiffon. Look out for these wonderful combinations in our wide range of chenille scarves and shawls. Featured Chenille Scarves
